Plumpy'nut to the Resue

Fourth Graders at Nantucket Elementary School wanted to do something to raise awareness and money for Plumpy'nut. Students researched, wrote a script, created a storyboard, shot the movie, edited, recorded the music and shared it with their parents. We hope you enjoy this movie and donate to a good cause.

Fifth Graders Use Photoshop in Art Class

Miss Olszewski's fifth grade art class is combining digital photographs with original art work using Adobe's Photoshop. Be sure to visit the Nantucket Elementary School's Junior Artists annual art show. The opening and reception is Thursday, May 1 at 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The show runs from May 1 through May 7th. Fourth Graders Present the Solar System

As part of the fourth grade science curriculum, fourth graders research one planet of our solar system and create a PowerPoint presentation. They answer questions like 'what is Uranus made of ?' what makes Uranus unique? and could we live on Uranus?' The presentation includes 'in text citations' as well as a 'Works Cited' slide. In preperation for this project students studied all eight regular planets and Pluto. They also studied the three dwarf planets.

Kindergarteners Shape Their World

Using Shapes and Building Blocks software, from the Terc Math Investigation Curriculum, kindergartners rotate, move, duplicate, paste, erase, and explore the properties of basic two dimensional shapes. Kindergartners know that a diamond is also called a 'rhombus'. They can also identify a hexagon, square, trapezoid, triangle, and a rectangle.
